The Music Ministry of the Greater Refuge Temple continues to create the atmosphere for praise &worship.

Absolute Praise

Absolute Praise and Worship comes from the very being of an individual. It is reflective of their true selves, in adoration. (John 4:24). Praise is the self-sacrifice called for in our lives. And as we make that sacrifice unreservedly, it always leads to the blessing of worship.

Absolute Praise (the praise and worship ministry of Greater Refuge Temple, Buffalo, NY) first got together in January 1996. When the praise and worship ministry was first formed it was designed to give God all the glory and to incorporate a blend of traditional, contemporary, multi-cultural and original prophetic praise and worship songs.

APM strives to encourage each person in the congregation to get involved in the praise and worship experience, with the ultimate goal of abiding in the awesome presence of Almighty God. APM is determined to demonstrate that praise and worship should be exciting and up- lifting. Absolute Praise revels in the Lord, abide in the refreshment and renewing that comes from God’s awesome presence. APM recorded their first CD in 2001 entitled “Set the Stage that included 14 original songs. This CD was also packaged with a powerful message preached by Bishop Robert L. Sanders, Sr. It was Bishop Sander’s message that inspired the CD and the title song.

The Women’s Ministry/Sisterhood is a ministry of the church.  It is not necessary to “join” or “sign-up” to participate in the activities sponsored by the Ministry.  As a woman, when YOU became a member of Greater Refuge Temple of Christ, YOU also became a part of the Women’s Ministry/Sisterhood.

During our fellowship gatherings, we encourage an atmosphere of prayer, praise, worship, teaching, deliverance and unity.  We encourage all sisters to bond together to create Christ-centered friendships so that we can strengthen our relationship amongst each other in the beauty of holiness!

The goal of the Women’s Ministry is to encourage women to work together in fellowship and harmony for spiritual enrichment and edification to win souls to Christ.

This is accomplished through:

  • Assisting the Pastor in the area of Women’s Ministry
  • Attending monthly meetings every 2nd Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
  • Working collaboratively with other ministries within the church

Women’s Ministries activities include:

  • Annual Women’s Day Celebration Weekend
  • Annual Women’s Retreat
  • Sunday Night Ministry Services
  • Yearly Obligation to financially support  the work and ministry
  • Annual Missionary Luncheon
  • Annual Missionary Fellowship Service
  • Jr. Sisterhood  (young ladies)

The Evangelism Ministry is assigned to take the Gospel of Jesus Christ outside the four walls of the church. We have dedicated men and women that go to the streets of Buffalo regardless of the type of neighborhood or setting. The Evangelism Ministry has been known to send teams out at night to minister to lost souls at area bars and night clubs. There is an ongoing campaign for souls that we call “Reach One More for Jesus”. The Evangelism Ministry is comprised of three ministry divisions: HARDCORE, HIGH CRIME and DOOR to DOOR.

HARDCORE - . God has sent them back out into the streets in the late night hour. They have went to bars, gang infested areas, street corners, and in front of liquor stores. Lives have been changed, saved, and many have allowed God to minister to them through our Evagelism Ministry. We are truly strivbing to Reach the Un-Reached in these last and evil days for Jesus Christ.

HIGH CRIME - The High Crime team focuses their evangelistic efforts on street corners and areas known for high crime activity. Many of the individuals that serve in this area have been delivered from drugs, alcohol and other behaviors that lead to criminal activity, but now they share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and minster as ae lliving testimony of the soul-saving power of Jesus Christ.

DOOR to DOOR The evangelism team goes out into different areas of the city of Buffalo, knocking on doors, and ringing doorbells to share the gospel with our brothers and sisters where we leave tracts about our Lord Jesus Christ. The Evangelism ministry gives the leadership of our Annual Tent Revival. The tent revival last for a whole week to include noon day services under the “Big Top Tent” The Tent Revival is literally bringing the Church outside for all to be exposed to the awesome power of God through the preached Word of God, praise & worship and of course street witnessing.

BUFFALO FOR JESUS

The Evangelism Ministry also spear heads an annual event called Buffalo for Jesus. This event involves a city-wide outreach for souls. Many churches throughout the city of Buffalo participate. The main goal is to blanket every corner of the city of Buffalo with the gospel. Strategic locations are selected and teams are sent out to fulfill the “Great Commission” according to Matthew 28:19. After this two hour event the teams reconvene at the church to give “praise reports” on what took place on the street.  The Evagelism Ministry partners with other churches in this efort to reach sould for the Kingdom.

PRISON MINISTRY

The Evangelism Ministry ministers to individuals that have been incarcerated. Bible studies and church services are conducted on a weekly basis at the Erie County Correctional Facility.

We minister to men and women from all walks of life, that allowed themselves to be caught up in the prison system. Our goal is to encourage, inspire, and show the love of Christ.

The Evangelism Ministry partners with other churches across denominational lines to become a part of this dynamic crusade to win souls for the Kingdom.
